Around 15 labs as in Microwave Lab, Signal Systems and MATLAB, Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab, Digital ICs Lab, Analog & Digital Communication Lab, Electronic Circuits Lab, B.Tech VLSI Lab, M.Tech VLSI Lab, R&D lab are well equipped with high quality apparatus and equipment. The Department also has its own student association named “Electronics Project Club” (EPC) and “Radiance Professional Society” that conducts different Technical & Cultural Events, competitions, seminars, quizzes etc. One of most celebrated event of ECE department is the Radio Day. The department is associated with professional technical associations and societies namely IETE and IEEE which give students, additional means to improve and update their technical knowledge and personality development.
10+2 with Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects along with one of these mentioned subjects; computer science, biology, chemistry and bio-technology are eligible to pursue the B.Tech. Students who have cleared Diploma in any engineering stream from the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) Longowal or (PSBTE) Punjab State Board of Technical Education or from any other (SBTE) State Board of Technical Education or two years certificate course from SLIET are qualified to pursue the bachelor’s degree in any stream.

The minimum criterion for admission to IInd year/IIIrd semester of the B.Tech degree courses are as follows:
All those Students who have passed the Diploma in Engineering:
Engineering in any branch from any Institution of Punjab/other state and having Punjab domicile with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST 40%) or equivalent grade point are eligible for admission to various disciplines of B.E. /B. Tech. In event of some seats remaining vacant even after considering the aforementioned candidates, those from outside Punjab who have cleared a Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology from any other institute of the country, affiliated to any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST 40%) or equivalent shall be eligible for admission to various disciplines of B.E. /B. Tech. course provided Diploma courses in Engineering & Technology have been approved by AICTE.

- He/she must fulfill the conditions given in PTU, CET Brochure. Candidates need to fulfill the PTU requirements:

- 10% seats of total of every branch are filled in the IInd year out of which 33.3% seats are reserved as management quota which are to be filled directly by the college.
- Admissions will be made on the basis of merit qualifying exam.
