Departmental Library

The main objective of this library is to represent itself as the most effective learning resource centre to cater to the needs of the UG students, PG students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members and other Technical Staff of the Department. Users may feel free to contact the Department Library In-charge for any further help required while accessing the resources.

Library Timing:

Library remains open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Lunch Break is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • M.Tech Students – 2 books for 10 days.
  • Research Scholars – 2 books for 10 days.
  • Faculty Members – 3 books for 14 days.
  • Other staff – 2 books for 14 days.

Laboratory DetailsAn Electronic Book or E-book is a book-length publication in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on computers or other electronic devices. It is sometimes defined as “an electronic version of a printed book”. The central Library of Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran has subscribed a good number of e-books of leading publishers and are made available to the students through campus network.

Laboratory Details

In IT department there are 6 software lab, 1 hardware lab(DCLD/MALP) and 1 CISCO lab. These laboratories are well equipped with latest software and hardware. All laboratories have 35 computers each. Every computer has 64 bit operating system, Intel Pentium CPU G2020 @ 2.90 GHz, 2GB RAM, 500 GB Hard drive, Switches, 10 KWA Online UPS, USB mouse/keyboard, Monitors 18.5″, Window XP pro with SP 2, Office 2007,Turbo C++ 3.0, Smart draw 6, Avast Antivirus, Oracle Client 10g, Java, Ubuntu and SQL. In hardware lab there are , Encoder-Decoder, 4 bit synchronous binary counter(up), MUX-DEMUX 1, 4 bit binary ripple counter, flip-flop (RS,JK,T), binary adder-subtractor and 4 bit shift register.

CISCO Lab

Under the project Cisco IT learners can access and implement routing and Layer 2 core switching lab configurations virtually over the Internet from the convenience of a personal computer. These virtual labs are powered by Cisco IOS Software (version 15) on UNIX. Cisco Learning Labs will be there for users in the institution. CCNA Routing and Switching — ICND1 v2.0 and ICND2 v2.0 with instructional videos with all ICND1 v2.0 and ICND2 v2.0 labs will help students learn better. Multimedia labs are available for select offerings. No downtime for equipment resets is there. Access to lab exercise instructions from a convenient sidebar within any active lab is also there.
The main objective of establishing the lab is to set up an institutional mechanism to create self learning opportunities and to convert students into professionals. The initiative will provide mentoring so that the technical innovation alongside the commercial viability could be checked out.
