Mechanical Engineering department is going to organize a Short Term Course on “Effective
Presentation and Communication skills” on Feb 21–22, 2019 in association with NITTTR
Chandigarh. This course will be highly beneficial to the faculty members for enhancing their
presentation, communication skills and teaching methodologies.
MHRD Innovation Cell (MIC) is organising “India First Leadership Talk Series” as per IIC calendar on 14th February, 2019. Shri. Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor, Govt. of India will be the speaker for this session.
MIC are inviting questions from students all across the country to be asked from Shri. Ajit Doval. One question per IIC regarding art of decision making will be entertained.
In order to provide firsthand experience of industry to students of first year they will be sent to visit various industries in the coming two weeks. This was revealed by Dr Lakhvinder Singh, HoD, Department of Applied Sciences. Sixty three students of CSE-C are going to Samrat Forging Pvt. Ltd at VPO Ghollu Majra, Derabassi on 7th February, 2019 and sixty one students of ME-A will be going to J.J. Engg. and Fabricators at Phase 8B, Mohali.
The department of Electronics and Communication is going to organize an Industrial visit to Wonder Systems Private limited, Mohali on 31 Jan, 2019 for the 4th semester students of CD section. Wonder Systems India Pvt. Ltd. is situated in Industrial Area (S.A.S. Nagar) Mohali, Punjab-India. WSIPL is an exclusive ATC of PARKER HANNIFIN (Formerly SSD Eurotherm Drives), Siemens, Gefran, Fuji & System House for Crompton for Hot Rolling Automation Solutions. During the visit students will be able to understand the core concepts related with Automation, AC and DC drives , PLC and SCADA systems and various career opportunities in the field of automation.
CSE department is organizing International Bus IT Week from 04-02-2019 to 08-02-2019. During this international week Students from Europe will visit Chandigarh Engineering College. Various teams of CSE Department Students from Chandigarh Engineering College will develop applications with students who are coming from Europe on different technologies like – image processing using MATLAB, Management information system using oops, Web site development and APIs, which they will present to all participants and an external jury. There will be one to one interaction and knowledge exchange in between Indian students and international Students.
ECE Department is organizing a Short Term Course (STC) On “Digital System Design” through ICT Sponsored by NITTTR from 28 Jan, 2019 to 01 Feb, 2019 in Machine vision lab (3rd floor of Block 1).
The Short Term Course is designed to impart the participants in depth knowledge about the latest trends and techniques in the area of Digital design. This programme is intended to provide the participants a common platform to share the knowledge, experience and innovation in the areas of embedded systems and also an opportunity to interact with eminent personalities working in these areas. By the end of the programme, the participants will be able to understand the basic notion of the emerging techniques in above said fields and to find new directions for further research.
IEDC cell of CEC, Landran is going to organize an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) from 23-25 Jan 2019 in seminar hall of Block-1.
Objective: The objective the camp is to create awareness among S&T students to opt Entrepreneurship as a career.
Description of Camp: The program will consist of 12 sessions of one hour each. In the program students will learn how to open a new Enterprise (Business), to arrange funds, to market the product and students will also get a chance to interact with entrepreneur through an Industrial visit.

Department of Information Technology has collaborated with MHRD Innovation Council (MIC) to organize the Webinar session for the Students of CSE, IT, ECE and ME branches of Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran.
Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder Chairman and Director Persistent Systems Ltd. will be the speaker on occasion. This is the Second Episode of “India First Leadership Talk Series” which will be organized by MIC. The Expert Talk will be held on 24th January 2019 from 11:30 AM onwards.
Students from CGC will have a special opportunity to listen to Dr. Anand Deshpande who will be the keynote speaker in the talk will mainly focus on ‘Planning for Career’ domain.

An Expert talk is arranged for B.Tech 3rd & 5th Semester of ECE on 15th Oct, 2018. The Lecture will be delivered by Er. Subhash Chander Kashyap , Joint Director ,TBRL, Chandigarh.
Objective of Expert talk: The objective is to make students aware about Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory Networking Operations and how students of ECE Can make their career in defence.
About the lecture
The speaker will explain about Implementation of computer networking and data centre services in Defence sector. He will discuss how security is important and can be maintained while networking.
The lecture will not only include computer networking basics but also interconnected collections of such devices, which will include Routers ,switches , hubs ,gateways including networks and other switching systems.
The lecture will cover all the networking standards and will be emphasized on how virtualization of networks enables defense data centre administration.
