An expert talk on “Differential Equations and its Applications” was organized by Applied Sciences Department on 25th March 2026 for the first year engineering students. The session was delivered by Dr. Brehmit Kaur, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib. With over 15 years of rich teaching experience and significant research contributions in areas such as numerical techniques, singular perturbation and mathematical modeling, she has made a remarkable impact in the field of mathematics. The speaker was formally welcomed and honoured at the beginning of the session by Ms. Jasdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the department of Applied Sciences, who highlighted Dr. Brehmit Kaur’s remarkable contributions to the field of Mathematical Sciences.
The expert, Dr. Brehmit Kaur, explained “Differential Equations” in a simple and clear way. She started with basic definitions and easy examples to build understanding. Then, she gradually introduced types like Ordinary differential equations and Partial differential equations. Her explanation focused strongly on real-life applications in physics, biology and engineering. She used important models and equations to make concepts practical. Modern topics like AI and machine learning are also included. She balanced theory with applications. Overall, her approach was student-friendly, structured and easy to follow.
