Applied Sciences Department organized an expert talk entitled “Projections in Engineering
Drawing” on March 11, 2025. Dr. Jaswinder Singh Mehta, Assistant Professor, UIET-
Chandigarh enlightened the students with his rich experience in the domain of drawing, design,
thermal engineering and nanotechnology. The session was organized on the technical topics of
engineering drawing to make students aware of the in-depth knowledge about the orthographic
projection and its application to points and lines. The importance of projection related to points
and lines including its traces was also discussed as to how it allows user to draw the figure from
three dimensional systems on two dimensional sheet. The four quadrant system and its projection
in 1st and 3rd angle projection along with its formation in the side view were the key topics of this
lecture.
