The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Advanced AI-Based Industry-Aligned Techniques for Smart Automation and Product Innovation” was organized by the Departments of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) from 6th to 11th July. The programme aimed to equip faculty members with advanced knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), smart automation, and product innovation while strengthening the connection between academic practices and industry requirements.
A total of 52 faculty members from various departments, including Applied Sciences, ME, ECE, IT, CSE, ET, and RISE, actively participated. The FDP featured expert sessions by eminent academicians and industry professionals, including Dr. Simranjit Singh, Mr. Sandeep Kaushal, Ms. Deepali Gulati, Dr. Balwinder Singh, and Dr. Charanjeet Kalra. Keynote addresses by institutional leaders highlighted the growing importance of AI, Industry 4.0, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation-driven education.
The sessions covered AI applications, cybersecurity, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, product innovation, and AI-driven business solutions through case studies and interactive discussions. Participants gained practical insights into emerging technologies, research opportunities, and modern teaching methodologies aligned with current industrial trends.
The programme successfully enhanced participants' technical knowledge, encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthened their ability to integrate AI-based concepts into teaching, curriculum development, research, and student mentoring. Overall, the FDP provided a valuable platform for professional development, promoting continuous learning and preparing faculty members to address the evolving demands of technology-driven industries and higher education.
