The Electronic Project Club (EPC) under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Chandigarh Engineering College-CGC Landran successfully organized a hands-on session titled “GITFINITY 2.0: Empowering Students Through Open Source & Collaboration” in association with SheBuilds to provide students with practical exposure to Git and GitHub, essential tools for modern software development, collaborative projects, internships, and hackathons. The session focused on bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world implementation through live demonstrations and guided hands-on activities, enabling participants to understand repository creation, version control, code management, branching, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows. Students were also introduced to open-source development, hackathon culture, and the importance of technical communities in fostering innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning. A key highlight of the event was the insightful interaction with Vikas Kumar Yadav from OSEN, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to actively participate in innovation-driven and community-based technological initiatives. The event created an engaging academic environment and significantly enhanced students’ awareness of open-source collaboration, career-oriented technical skills, and the growing importance of community engagement in the technology ecosystem.
