An industrial visit was organised by the Department of Business Administration (MBA), CEC-CGC Landran, for the 2nd Semester MBA students to The Tribune, located at Sector 29, Chandigarh, on 13th March, 2026, to provide students with practical exposure to the working environment of a well-established media organisation. Industrial visits are an important part of management education as they help students understand how theoretical concepts learned in the classroom are applied in real business situations. During the visit, the students were welcomed by Mr Karam Vir (Assistant Manager) and Mr. Aman Gulati (Co-ordinator Press) of the organisation, who provided an overview of the history, functioning, and role of the newspaper in the media industry. The students were introduced to the organisational structure and the various departments involved in the process of publishing a newspaper, such as the editorial department, printing unit, marketing and advertising division, and circulation management.
This industrial visit provided the students with valuable industrial exposure, allowing them to gain insights into real-life organisational practices, work culture, and management processes followed in the media sector. It helped them understand the importance of teamwork, communication, and coordination among different departments in achieving organisational objectives. Overall, the visit proved to be an informative and enriching learning experience for the students as it enhanced their understanding of the practical aspects of management and industry operations.
