The AICTE-IDEA Lab at Chandigarh Engineering College (CGC), Landran organized "Open Day for School Students: From Curiosity to Creation" for the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Majatri on 21 May 2026. The event aimed to promote innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning by introducing students to modern fabrication and prototyping technologies.
The programme began with an introduction to the AICTE-IDEA Lab, followed by a guided tour of the facility. Students witnessed live demonstrations of advanced machines, including the Laser Cutting Machine, CNC Router, PCB Prototype Machine, Vinyl Cutter, and Wood Lathe Machine, and learned about their applications in manufacturing, electronics, and product design.
Students also participated in hands-on activities where they created simple models under the guidance of mentors and student volunteers. They actively interacted with the instructors, asked questions, and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session.
The event successfully achieved its objective of inspiring school students to explore science, engineering, and technology through practical learning.
