The AICTE-IDEA Lab, Chandigarh Engineering College (CGC), Landran, organized an "Open Day for School Students: From Idea to Prototype" on 30 April 2026 to promote innovation, creativity, and experiential learning. The event hosted 55 students and faculty members from Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Swara, providing them with hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and modern engineering practices.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Rachin Goyal, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Vinay Bhatia, HOD, Electronics & Communication Engineering, with technical support from Mr. Satwinder Singh, Ms. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Deepak Dadwal, and Dr. Sachin Mohal, Tech Gurus of the AICTE-IDEA Lab.
The event commenced with an introduction to the AICTE-IDEA Lab, emphasizing innovation, prototyping, and practical learning. Students then participated in an interactive laboratory tour featuring live demonstrations of the Laser Cutting Machine, CNC Router, 3D Printing Technology, Vinyl Cutter, Wood Lathe Machine, and PCB Prototyping Machine. These sessions showcased the real-world applications of advanced manufacturing and electronics technologies while encouraging students to explore careers in science, engineering, and innovation.
